Vitalik Buterin Joins Cast Of Mila Kunis's NFT Show 'Stoner Cats'

The blockchain-linked TV show “Stoner Cats,” an animated web series produced by actress Mila Kunis, is also adding crypto star power: Ethereum creator Vitalik Buterin.

Well, Vitalik Buterin will play a monocle-wearing spirit guide in the show, a new animation series that is crowdfunding using non-fungible tokens (NFTs), according to the show's website. Ethereum founder who will provide the voice of "Lord Catsington", joins a cast of actors and comedians, including Mila Kunis, Chris Rock, Jane Fonda, Ashton Kutcher, and "Family Guy" creator Seth Macfarlane.

Intrestingly, the show cast will be paid in ether, the ethereum network's native token, for their work. And viewers will need to buy NFT to unlock all the available content. The NFTs will sell for 0.35 ETH, about $750 at time of publication.

Well, NFTs are unique pieces of information that run on a blockchain. NFTs can represent real-world assets like images, video, music or even digital pets. But unlike a traditional cryptocurrency NFTs cannot be copied or exchanged in a like-for-like swap.

In recent past, a growing number of artists and celebrities have embraced NFTs as a means of crowdfunding, or raising money for charity. Earlier this month, Vitalik Buterin featured in a documentary that required NFT crowdfunding. "Ethereum: The Infinite Garden" raised 1,000 ether coins, each one of which is worth approx $2,200 now.

"The creators have lots more amazing Stoner Cats stories to tell ... If we’re right with this experiment, then this tribe we’re building online, anchored around access token NFTs, is structured to reward early believers, community participation and breaking down barriers between creator and consumer." says the show website.
