SAP Launches Blockchain-as-a-Service Platform

Recently, SAP has launched a platform dedicated to helping corporates developing blockchain applications.
 
The company has announced during an SAP event that they are looking forward to providing a cloud-based solution for organizations with a framework to build business applications on blockchain system such as Hyperledger Fabric by Linux Foundation of which SAP is also a contributor.

The company stated, “The work is being formally rolled out after it has worked with 65 companies within its Blockchain Co-Innovation Initiative that trialed blockchain applications in various industries such as supply chain, manufacturing, transportation, food, and pharmaceuticals.”
 
The company is working with Johnsonville, as well as Naturipe Farms and Maple Leaf, on a project which helps in tracking the origin of food products across the supply chain as a part of its Farm to Consumer initiative.
 
SAP has also announced the formation of blockchain consortium whose members will be entitled to use the technology developed by the group. HP Enterprise, Intel, and UP, are currently the part of the consortium.
