Year 2018 Brings $7 Billion In ICOs

ICO (Initial Coin Offering) has become the fastest and easiest way to raise money by startups. ICOs process include a project usually based on blockchain, issues tokens that are distributed and/or sold publicly.

It looks like year 2018 is set to make a new record in ICO capital raise. According to a report published by DollarDestruction, ICOs have raised close to $7 billion in first 5 months of this year. As a matter of fact, ICOs have raised $2 billion in just May month alone. These raise numbers do not include EOS that has just finished its ICO raising $4.1 billion.

As you can see from the above chart, Petro, ESO, and Telegram are the biggest ICOs that have raised $5bn, $2.5bn, and $1.7bn respectively. However, EOS has raised more funds and now total is more than $4bn.
